Winter Window

This painting has been sitting for several months in a not sure if finished state. My sister picked up on it sitting there and thought it looked good like this, over time I too feel it may be a shame to do anymore to it. I've gotten used to its bare and simple feel, like the beauty of Winter. I love bare trees and Winter light and this piece has a bit of that shining through it, so I'm leaving it like this! A finally finished canvas.

Just now when I look out my window it's full of late Summer green but in the next months the leaves will slowly fall and we'll be back to bare twisted tree branches and the beauty of Winter!

There IS great beauty in the architecture of the trees and branches in winter and you have captured it SO beautifully here dear Kat.

Beautiful painting, but I am NOT ready to think about winter yet. Been hot hot here this week, feels like the middle of summer, but dry so the leaves are changing and falling. Strange really. xox

Yes, bare trees are beautiful, though winter isn't for me. But there is some joy in your piece! I like it.

These trees are wonderful! And your background is perfect for a cold winter day. I agree with your sister! Happy PPF

Oh Kat it's not bare or simple at all in fact it's magical...I can see little characters within the paintings brush strokes... what fun this is!! I see little birds and a dog or lion, and a face... reminds me of a book I used to read my daughter when she was little... can't remember the title but there were stumps that turned into things at night... then in daylight they were just old stumps and pieces of wood... LOVE this gorgeous canvas!! A little different than your usual style! Stunning though!

THANKS so much for your sweet visit Kat, as always, I love your meaningful words. I have not perused anyone's blogs either...not even my own! winter and fall may bring more time for this...we shall see. In the meantime it is so wonderful to come here Kat. I agree with your sister on this last post...so FREE, EASY, BREEZY and love the colors, just this WAY! YOU have been so busy creating such WONDERFUL and NEW ideas, put down, for all of us to delight in. LOVE all the old and new...you just can't go wrong with that INNER YOU that comes through. oxoxox

It really is lovely. Sometimes simplicity is perfection!

This is beautiful, deceptively simple, but so satisfying to look at often. Sometimes a painting decides itself that it is done, and this one has.
