Floating

Mix it monthly got my creative juices stirring with the boat theme and so I got my water colours, pens and wax pastels out for this one and enjoyed playing! A little peaceful boat floating down the river. Floating boats have always given me a sense of peace and calm, they are centred and graceful. That feeling of floating relaxes and so emerged this little boat floating peacefully down the river bank. When I inverted the colours on this I loved the magical effect and the colours came out so rich and warm that I had to post this night version. So dream on dear friends and when feeling frazzled try to let go and float on by.

Below are another couple of boats I played with in a looser way for more fun!

These are riding on a choppy sea!

Oh, Kat, this is marvellous, a lovely boat with a flowery sail on an amazing sea. I like this so much. And then the wonders of inverting the colours give another wonderful picture and highlight different parts of the painting including the dark night sky and the trees. Yes, I love both of these, well done.

Both versions are wonderful, love them both. I love to watch the ships going by on the Rhine, a very relaxing thing. Hugs, Valerie

Love this image (these images) and am struck by the similar view to a sketch I created yesterday ~ so much so that I'm inspired to wonder if we aren't some sort of kindred spirits!

I think I'll stick with sketch for this *Mix It* ~ so now I'm really looking forward to getting into the studio this afternoon! :D

Oh my - these are gorgeous. I love how dramatically different the reversals are. I'd certainly like to be on that boat for a meander both in the day and at night.

Hello Kat, I came back for your additional two pictures.
Your third boat bouncing on the waves is so lively and the happy tree is waving in the wind, watching.
And I like your little flotilla going out to sea or maybe having a little race like they often do at North Berwick.
Love all four of these pictures, a different theme for us.

Kat how I love your free paintings..they tell a story of letting go, of swim with the flow, of accepting the way as it is!! I soo love the second one, that you changed to a darker one!! This is so magical! Thank you for swimming with us this month on Mix It Monthly ♥ Conny

dear kat I do admire your ability to paint so freely, without inhibition, it looks deceptively easy, but it is not, it takes great skill. Your little boats are wonderful.
