Hello to all, here's my quiet moment, all the children tucked up in bed. I get to post my latest piece, full of the ripeness of late summer heat, a mellow mellow warmth that radiates. The heat has come back full force today, the swallows swooping and dancing all over our little village this evening, summer is slowly swinging in. But I do relish the calmness of summer nights, the sounds of frogs croaking, the coolness and calm after the swallows and sun go to bed. My head is filled with summer thoughts, yet this one reflects the end of summer, there is a softness, a turning of colours, a something magical in those last warm lingering summer days before we suddenly dip into Autumn, but for now here's wishing you all a glorious week-end!

Very beautiful Kat! I love everything about autumn here on the west coast of British Columbia, especially the colors! For now we are enjoying spring and all its offerings!! I love the blend of colors in this piece and how delicate it is!!

Hi Kat. This is a beautiful piece. I love the warm soft colors and the beautiful words you used to describe your feelings. There is something special about summer evenings. As a child, I loved to go out and play in the dark and now as an adult the cooler evenings always have a special feel to them.
